They are famous for nature-inspired motifs, specifically peacocks and parrots.
Originated in Paithan, Maharashtra; modern production is centralized in Yeola, Maharashtra. Originally woven with silk imported from China and local gold/silver thread, they now primarily use Bangalore silk and Surat zari.
It's distinctive feature is, the two sides of the saree are identical, with elaborate pallus and borders featuring muniya (parrot) and peacock (mor) motifs.
